Looking at the ministry of Jesus Christ, we see that for the first sixteen months of His public ministry Jesus focused on the spiritual leadership of the day. But in Matthew 9:9, there is a 180-degree turn in His focus and He begins to associate Himself with New Testament businessmen. The twelve apostles that Jesus eventually chooses in consultation with His Father are all businessmen and part of the center of trade in Galatia.
The prophetic content of this indicates to us that the businessmen of our day have an important role to play in church history. This is the motivation and reason for the Genesis Christian Business Community (GCBC), founded on 22 February 1993.
